AMAZING YOUNG SINGERS FROM THE PHILIPPINES

Besides playing or watching basketball games, there's one favorite pastime that Filipinos are known for - it's "Singing."  There are singing contests held everywhere, whether at the back street or in rural fiestas and  Karaoke will always be present in every Filipino parties and it's not nice to say "no" if people ask you to sing at a party - never mind if you're off tune, they will give you the mic, just sing and everyone will be happy. 

Reality Singing contest is one favorite avenue of aspiring young singers.  Thousands of kids audition for The Voice Philippines, a franchise of a Dutch reality tv singing competition.  Some of them have made it big in local showbiz notably Darren Espanto.  Apart from The Voice Kids, there's also Charice (A.K.A Jake Zyrus) who was also a product of a singing competition.  Charice who's is now in her 20's,  has performed with big names in Hollywood like Celine Dion, David Foster and Andrea Bocelli to name a few.  Elha Nympha of the Voice Kids season 2 has also performed at Steve Harvey's show "Little Big Shots."
